John Ortiz, National Sales Manager for AgMaxx, shares what he learned at the 2019 Commodity Classic in Orlando, Florida.
Hey guys, John Ortiz with AgMaxx. Today I am going to be talking to you about my takeaways from the Commodity Classic.
We have been discussing non-GMO's, organic, and recently we have been discussing this hemp deal. That was a big topic of conversation there as well. People are looking for alternative markets and revenue streams besides just raising a normal commodity.
People are looking for ways to increase farm incomes. To do that, they are looking at the non-GMO / organic route as well as hemp. Hemp seems to be a really big market that is starting to take off with all the states getting approved to start messing around with CBD oils and fibers and things of that nature.
The other thing was you guys here us preach and talk about these BigYield products - biologicals and yield-enhancing products. There seem to be a lot more companies that are getting involved. Even more than the prior year.
It was held in Orlando, Florida this year. Last year it was held in Los Angelos. But again, more biological companies and more yield-enhancing products seem to be coming out of the woodwork.
