"It's just too easy to become complacent, and complacency can be very dangerous - especially in farming."
Brian Kurz discusses his thoughts on what growers can do to be successful in agriculture today.
The number one thing definitely has to be to challenge the things around you. Challenge what you are doing, what you are growing, how you are growing it, and how you look at it.
It's just too easy to become complacent. Complacency can be dangerous - especially in farming. It's constantly changing and growing. If you're not pushing someone else is.
The thing is if we weren't doing that, we wouldn't have grown and learned as much as we have. If you decide things will always be the way they are - there are certain aspects that aren't going to change. There are some things that will always be. I think that building on previous knowledge and being willing to challenge that knowledge is going to be huge for you as an operator - especially as you grow.
